The project
A brain-training game for iOS and Android: quick mini-games on speed, memory, attention, reasoning, precision and balance, with an adventure mode, daily challenges and duels between friends.
MindShift Arena turns brain training into an arcade game. Each session takes a few minutes: pick a mini-game, try to beat your best score and climb the leaderboard. The pixel-art style and a customisable avatar make the daily routine feel light.
The mini-games cover six skills (speed, memory, attention, reasoning, precision and balance) and range from classics such as Tangram, N-back and Stroop to games that use the phone’s gyroscope. Challenges are sent to friends with a link or a QR code, and scores go into overall and per-game leaderboards.
The app is built in Flutter with the Flame game engine. A Node.js backend with Express and SQLite handles users, scores, leaderboards and challenges, alongside push notifications with Firebase, Game Center and Google Play Games, and in-app purchases.
